No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate

As part of the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining the expected cost of therapy services. This estimate helps you understand the financial investment in your care and ensures transparency in pricing.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate outlines the expected charges for mental health services if you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance. While this is not a bill, it provides an estimated cost for services to help you make informed decisions about your care.

What You Can Expect:

  • A written Good Faith Estimate will be provided before your first appointment or upon request.

  • The estimate will include expected costs for individual therapy, group therapy, or any other services offered.

  • If your actual costs exceed the estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the charges.

Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act:

  • You have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services.

  • You can dispute a bill if you receive a charge significantly higher than the estimate.

  • You are encouraged to keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
